Enrique Carbajal, M.D.

Enrique CarbajalDr. Carbajal is a staff physician and the Chief of the Division of Cardiology, Medicine Service, at the VA Central California Health Care System (VACCHCS) in Fresno. He is the principal investigator for the VACCHCS site on the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute (NHLBI)/NIH Cardiovascular Inflammation Reduction Trial under the leadership of Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Dr. Carbajal is an Associate Clinical Professor, serving as a faculty member of the UCSF Fresno Cardiology program for over 20 years. His special interests include chronic ischemic heart disease, heart failure, perioperative cardiac risk assessment and the diligent pursuit of evidence-based medicine.

Dr. Carbajal received his MD from the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara, Guadalajara, Jalisco, México with his current license from the New Mexico Medical Board.  He is board certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular diseases.
