Subramanyeswara Arekapudi, M.D., M.P.H., F.A.C.P.

Subramanyeswara ArekapudiDr. Subramanyeswara Arekapudi is the Division Chief for Hematology/Oncology at VA Central California Health Care System (VACCHCS). He is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of California San Francisco, Fresno. He is board certified in internal medicine and sub‑specialized in hematology and oncology. After completing a medical degree from India, Dr. Arekapudi pursued his interest in medical research and completed a master of public health in hospital & molecular epidemiology from the University of Michigan. Later, he joined Detroit Medical Center/Sinai-Grace Hospital/Wayne State University and completed his internship and residency in internal medicine. This was followed by a fellowship in hematology and oncology from Providence Hospital and Medical Center/Michigan State University.

Dr. Arekapudi has over 12 years of combined experience in basic science, translational and clinical research. He directs cancer clinical trials at VACCHCS and his clinical and research interests include lymphomas, thrombosis, lung, prostate, and hepatobiliary cancers. He has published several scientific papers and has an extensive list of research presentations at state and national level meetings. He also serves as a peer‑reviewer for several scientific journals. Dr. Arekapudi is an active member of the American College of Physicians, American Society of Clinical Oncology and American Society of Hematology.
