Frank L. Tabrah, M.D.

Frank L. TabrahDr. Tabrah is a Research Investigator on the NCI Prostate, Lung, Colorectal and Ovarian Cancer Screening (PLCO), the National Lung Screening Trial (NLST), and the Glycemia Reduction Approaches in Diabetes (GRADE) project.  He received his M.D. degree from the University of Buffalo School of Medicine and did his internship at the Buffalo Children's Hospital and residency at Children's Orthopedic Hospital in Seattle, Washington.

Dr. Tabrah was a Captain in the U.S. Army Medical Corps. He was a Professor of Community Health and Project Director, of the Preceptorship Program at the University of Hawaii School of Medicine. He is now a Professor in the Department of Physiology, and Emeritus Professor of Community Health at the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine. He is a member of the Leahi Fund Scientific Review Committee, and Chair of the Committee on Human Studies at the University of Hawaii. His book, “Healthcare Hawaii Style- A Model for the Nation,” published in 2007, explores how Hawaii leads the way toward universal health care.
